Mary J. Blige claims to have discovered her real love.
The R&B singer discussed her previous relationships on “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” this past Tuesday.
Mary, 53, was present to show her support for the festival and summit she is organizing for the third annual Strength of a Woman event.
Mary moved on from her unhappy marriage to Martin “Kendu” Isaacs. She declared to Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb that she had at last discovered her real love: herself.
“I cherish you.” “I believe I deserve a good relationship,” she uttered. On my alone. accompanied by a friend. You experience it when you believe it.
Mary said, “I believe in love for myself, so I can be alone.” I refuse to give up on love. I refuse to let a failed marriage or relationship to prevent me from having a fulfilling life, falling in love, and receiving the cuddles, kisses, and affection I deserve.
June 2018 saw the end of the contentious divorce between Kendu Isaacs and Mary J. Blige. She battled alcoholism and drug addiction as well. Since 2019, she has abstained from alcohol and narcotics.
They spent six years as a couple. R&B singer Cedric “K-Ci” Hailey of the boy band Jodeci was the person Mary was seeing.
She briefly dated hip-hop artist Nas as well.
“Still Believe in Love,” a new song by Mary, was released in the previous year. She said that the lyrics of the song “absolutely” convey how she feels about life at the moment to Hoda and Jenna.
