A two-hour video of Bryshere Gray being questioned by authorities has been posted online. Gray, better known by his stage name Yazz (or Yazz The Greatest), is a television actor who has been in some legal trouble recently. The actor, who is best known for his role in the cancelled TV musical-drama from Lee Daniels, Empire on Fox, was arrested for charges stemming from an alleged incident with his wife, Candice Jimdar, in Arizona last summer. These charges stemmed from a domestic violence allegation. The Goodyear Police Department has just come forward with newly released footage that casts some doubt on the legitimacy of the incident.

In July of this past year, rumours started spreading that Gray had been arrested after what was said to be an unfortunate altercation that took place at their home in Arizona involving his wife. The Goodyear Police Department stated that they responded to a call at approximately 10:15 o’clock on a Sunday night. Gray, who also starred as Michael Bivins in BET’s highly popular television miniseries The New Edition Story, initially refused to leave the house. He was playing the role of New Edition. Due to his failure to take any action, the crisis negotiations team was dispatched to the residence in order to provide assistance.

Gray was arrested and taken into custody sometime around seven o’clock on Monday morning. He was then transported to the Maricopa County jail. After seeing messages on her husband’s cell phone between him and other women, Jimdar reportedly told law enforcement officials that she confronted her husband about their affair. Before going after her in a threatening manner, his defence consisted of saying that they were “fake,” as she has stated, according to her. After receiving medical attention, Gray’s wife was deemed to be in stable condition and discharged from the hospital. Documents indicate that there was a point in time during the incident in which she lost consciousness.
The video recording of his questioning by investigators has recently been made available to the public. Gray is seen defending himself throughout the course of the two-hour interview by stating, “I have a career, I’m an artist, I have a lot of things to lose.” When asked if they were married, he initially referred to Jimdar as his “best friend,” but later responded to the question by saying, “in a way, we are married.” Gray later asserts in the video that he and Jimdar were involved in what he calls a “open relationship.” “We also have an open relationship, so I allow her to have a boyfriend because I’m really busy,” he said. “This is because our relationship is not exclusive.”

The actor claimed that his wife had suicidal thoughts as well, and that a man named “Mark” had visited their home after he had left. Mark is suspected of being the person who was responsible for what happened to Jimdar. Bryshere asserted, “[I] Went to My Friend’s House, and Then She Called ‘Mark’ Over,” and the two of them Spent Time Together. “He didn’t see something that he liked, and that’s why I have that F1 Savannah cat, but he’s just a kitten, and I don’t know what happened,” the owner explained.

Jimdar’s statement to the police indicates that “Mark” is a fictitious name that Gray employs in situations where he does not wish to be recognised, such as in hotels and public places. She explained that all he ever calls himself is Mark. “That’s kind of like his little pen name,” the speaker said. Officers have stated that they do not believe Gray’s allegations in any way. Jimdar also asserts that Gray suffers from bipolar disorder and will not take his prescribed medication. The actor was ultimately hit with three charges after the investigation was completed.

Byshere eventually agreed to plead guilty, which resulted in a 10-day jail sentence for him. The actor was given a prison sentence as well as a probation term of three years after being convicted of his crimes.
