During an appearance on This Morning, Cheryl refuted allegations that she is too old to care for a child by declaring that she has more energy than fifty percent of the children who are currently caring for infants and young children. The pair has already had conversations with three potential surrogates and is actively looking for a fourth one; however, they are open to the possibility of adopting a child as well.
McCain has stated that he and his wife would prefer to have a child through surrogacy, but they are concerned about the potential for legal complications. As a result, they are searching for a surrogate who is willing to sign a contract stating that she will have no further involvement with the child after it is born. In addition to this, they are looking for a baby that is multiracial so that the child can have a connection to both of its black and white parents.
McCain is accused of manipulating Cheryl for financial benefit or of waiting to be put in her will, and his relationship with her has been criticised by both of their families as well as by those who are not related to either of them. In reaction to the criticism, McCain stated that they had no plans to change their lifestyle because they are content with their marriage and the way things are going in their lives.
