Cori wrote: “Monday; I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” followed by an emoji of an angel wing.

Her fiancé and Cori’s father, Wayne Deuce, also paid tribute to the couple’s daughter with his own social media post.

“Being a nurse has its ups and downs and this is the biggest down I ever experienced

“It was such a pleasure being mybabygirls nurse. I gave her one last bath told her I loved her and didn’t even know I was getting her ready for Heaven.”

After Cori’s announcement, Snoop Dogg also broke his silence on the tragic news.

Rather than issuing a statement, the rapper shared a family photo on his Instagram page, which included Cori, as well as her brothers Cordell and Corde, and captioned it simply with a sparkling red heart and prayer hands emojis.

In a social media post on February 28 2025, confirming Codi’s birth three months early, she said: “The princess arrived at 6 months. I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself that I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed.

“But no matter what God always shows me that I’m His Child!”

She added: “Baby girl came at 25 weeks today and she’s perfect as ever! Thank You God for getting me this far no matter the odds that are constantly thrown against me.”

Following Codi’s birth, Cori later revealed that she’d undergone a C-section after doctors told her that she was developing Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes and Low Platelets, or HELLP, syndrome.

A response Snoop Dogg appeared to give after backlash over a ‘homophobic’ comment he made during a podcast appearance has been branded as ‘fake’.

It all started when the 53-year-old rapper took one of his grandsons to the movies to watch Lightyear, a prequel to the beloved Toy Story films.

In the Pixar movie, one of the main characters has two moms in a same-sex relationship.

During an interview on the It’s Giving podcast, Snoop claimed he was ‘scared to go to the movies’ after he recalled his grandson asking questions about the relationship.

He said: “They’re putting it everywhere […] They’re like, ‘She had a baby – with another woman’. Well, my grandson, in the middle of the movie is like, ‘Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!’

“I didn’t come in for this sh*t. I just came to watch the goddamn movie.”

The rapper then went on to claim he was ‘scared to go to the movies’ as a result of the situation, saying: “Y’all throwing me in the middle of sh*t that I don’t have an answer for.”

After a clip of the interview was shared on Reddit, people were quick to accuse him of being homophobic.

One user said the comments were ‘blatantly [sic] homophobic of Snoop’, as another wrote: “It’s only hard to explain if you’re homophobic and trying to hide the existence of gay people to your children.”

In the wake of the backlash, a post emerged which appeared to show the 16-time Grammy winner addressing the criticism.

After Hollywood Unlocked reposted a video of media personality TS Madison discussing the backlash the rapper had received on Instagram, an account attributed to Snoop took to the comments to explain he was just ‘caught off guard’ and asked the LGBTQ+ community to ‘teach me how to learn.’

The comment read: “I was just caught off guard and had no answer for my grandsons. All my gay friends [know] what’s up, they been calling me with love.

“My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6 yr old. Teach me how to learn. I’m not perfect.”

However, Deadline later reported that a source close to Snoop said he had not issued a response, and a look through the rapper’s social media feeds found no evidence of the supposed comment.

“It is a fake,” the source said.

The news comes after Lightyear screenwriter Lauren Gunderson previously defended her decision to include a same-sex relationship in the film.

“I’m proud of it. To infinity. Love is love,” she wrote on Instagram. “I was proud to see a happy queer couple (even for a few seconds) onscreen. I know they got a lot of sh*t for this inclusion, but stuff like this matters because beautiful love like this exists.”
