The U.S. president vanished from view over Labor Day, unleashing a storm of online speculation — even false claims of his death. He has now hit back in a press conference.

On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, President Donald Trump faced reporters in the Oval Office for the first time since the holiday break, brushing aside the bizarre claims that reportedly spread across social media and garnered over 1.3 million engagements in a single day.

When one of the journalists asked, “How did you find out over the weekend that you were dead?” Trump, aiming at the online frenzy, explained what he had been doing and compared his schedule to that of former President Joe Biden.

Trump said, “Last week, I did numerous news conferences, all successful. Then I didn’t do them for two days, and they said, ‘There must be something wrong with him.’ Biden wouldn’t do them for months.”

He added that he had spent the weekend at his Virginia golf club and participated in a scheduled interview with The Daily Caller. He answered the reporters directly, “No, I’ve been very active actually, over the weekend, I didn’t hear that one that’s pretty serious.”
