Without knowing all the details, Amanda and the other ladies in her book group made snap judgments on a fifty-year-old pregnant woman. They didn’t regret what they did until they found out how serious her pregnancy was.Amanda was happily unmarried and in her 60s. She never got married and didn’t have any kids. She keeps herself occupied by hosting the weekly reading club for the neighborhood, which brings together local ladies every Saturday. Over the years, Amanda’s only friends were the others in her book club. She was enraged whenever a neighbor’s child broke a flower pot or soiled her side of the road because she valued order. Amanda’s fear of the children sprang from this.
They

avoided her front yard and never brought her any of the summertime baked goods and juices they sold, which other neighbors gladly bought. Amanda went to the grocery store one day. She had not spoken to Jane, her 50-year-old neighbor, until she met her there. Jane was perusing the junk food in one of the aisles. “Now that we’re older, we shouldn’t be consuming that kind of junk food,” Amanda informed her. With a courteous grin, Jane informed her that her family always keeps chips on hand for their visitors. After giving her the ones to buy, Amanda shook her head. She pointed to the ones she believed to be superior and remarked, “Then at least go for the organic ones.”The whole neighborhood knew that Amanda always believed she knew best. Jane praised her for her advice rather than battling with her to mind her own business.By coincidence, Amanda and Jane ran into each other at the register again. Amanda made the decision to ask Jane to join their reading club there. “It seems like you grow bored during the weekends. She handed out a flier and said, “You should join our book club.” Jane accepted with a smile. Yes. She said, “I’ll see you on Saturday,” and walked out of the store with her grocery bags in hand. Amanda was happy to have brought a new member into their group. Jane appeared over the weekend. Every book club meeting would follow the same schedule: they would discuss a book for an hour, then have tea and sandwiches for an additional hour, and then talk all night long. Before going missing, Jane continued to appear for a further two weeks. Amanda was shocked that Jane had declined their invitation to join their reading group. The fact that Jane never picked up when she called horrified her even more.Jane was still missing after a month had gone by. Distressed by the disruption of her orderly needs, Amanda inquired with the other women whether they had seen Jane. “Is she traveling abroad or what?” The women said that since they hadn’t heard from Jane since they’d last seen her, they didn’t know where she was. Amanda dismissed the idea and continued living her life until she made the decision to go outside and get some fresh air one day. She noticed Jane strolling down the road, her hand stroking her round belly.Amanda was eager to share what she had witnessed with the book club members the next day. She shouted out, “I swear that Jane is pregnant!” right away. Speaking up, another woman mentioned that she had seen Amanda that week and that her tummy appeared to be large. Amanda gave a headshake.”She should be watching her grandchildren at her age, not giving birth!” It’s repulsive! Speaking behind Jane’s back, Amanda said.”Tell me about it,” murmured an additional old woman. “What name will the infant give her? Mamma? Picture yourself attending parent-teacher conferences when everyone else’s moms are in their thirties and you have gray hair. The book club members agreed and chuckled at that comment.”Who would wish to have a child with her?” Amanda gave a sarcastic laugh. Amanda ran into Jane at the grocery store a few days later. She was standing next to a food shelf, running her hand over her wide belly. Wanting desperately to know the father of her child, Amanda ran to Jane. She chose to make fun of Jane, who was examining a peanut shelf, before answering her inquiry. You know, eating peanuts when pregnant is not advised. It might trigger allergic reactions. Amanda snorted as she approached. Jane gently turned to face her. “I’m not allergic to peanuts, and I’m in perfect condition, according to my doctor. I’m good to go to eat peanuts,” she answered.”It makes no difference! You’re endangering a young person. You’re really self-centered, Amanda remarked, showing how annoyed she was. Jane was about to reply when she became ill. She sprinted to the closest bathroom while covering her mouth with her hand. “Aww. Revolting. For this reason, ladies of your age shouldn’t be bearing children. After her, Amanda gave a call. Jane’s daughter and her husband come out of nowhere. “What’s wrong? She questioned, “Why are you yelling at my mom?” “I was giving your mother some advice. It shows how self-centered she is to purchase junk food when expecting. Amanda stated, “She is endangering the baby.” How on earth is she able to sleep around, anyway? Is she not a widow? The daughter of Jane was horrified. She began, “First of all, ma’am, with all due respect, you have no business knowing about my mom’s pregnancy.” “But since you are all involved in her affairs, let me tell you the truth: I have been trying to conceive for the past two years, but each time, I have miscarried. I tried IVF and surgery, but neither worked. Our odds were little to none, the doctor said. My desire was not to become an adoptive parent. The daughter of Jane clarified.Jane heard her daughter approaching Amanda as she was leaving the restroom. She made the decision to take over and carry on the tale. In order to give my daughter and her husband the kid of their dreams, I volunteered to be a surrogate mother for them. She introduced them as her daughter Billie and her spouse, Timothy Watson. Amanda was taken aback and instantly felt ashamed of her behavior during the previous few months. The name of Billie’s spouse startled her even more. “Thomas Watson…” With a murmured expression, Amanda attempted to remember where she had heard the name. Then it dawned on her. In their state, Timothy Watson was the heir of a multimillion dollar firm, specifically the one Amanda had worked for in the past.”I’m really sorry,” she stated right away. “I had no idea that Jane had given you such a beautiful gift with your child. I really apologize.Billie remarked, “You don’t have to apologize to me.” Then, thinking Amanda understood, she glanced at her mother. “Jane, I apologize for judging you before understanding your tale. “I hope you can pardon me,” Amanda sobbed. She learned a great lesson about keeping her mouth shut when she was put in her place. After Jane pardoned her, Amanda promised to improve. After her daughter and son-in-law, Amanda was the first to see Jane at the hospital after she gave birth. Every time Amanda paid a visit to Jane, she made careful to inquire whether Jane needed any assistance, and by watching the infant, she helped Jane heal. Ultimately, Amanda made a repentance and forged a close friendship with Jane.
