On Saturday, July 6, Sonya Massey, a 36-year-old woman, made a 911 call in Springfield, Illinois. Massey thought someone was trying to enter her home.
According to reports, the woman, who seemed to be in mental turmoil, asked cops not to harm her. Instead, while authorities allegedly waited to provide assistance, Massy was shot and left lying in a pool of blood.
Her family is now looking for Verdct, as is the Springfield community.

According to Carter, Massey reported suspicious behavior inside or outside her home to 911 on July 6 at one in the morning. Her home was visited by two officers. However, they were unable to find any trespassers on the property.

She was reportedly told to turn off a kettle of boiling water on her stove by the officers. Deputy Grayson retreats as she seems to be following their instructions, as if she’s pouring water down the sink.
“Where are you heading?” You can hear Massey questioning the policeman.
Grayson responded, “Get out of your hot, steaming water.”
Officer Grayson then puts his hand on his gun holster and threatens to shoot Massey in her “f*g face” in a matter of seconds.

After reporting the shooting right away, the second officer went to get his medical bag so he could help Massey. Deputy Grayson informs his companion Massey that he “is done” in the meantime.
